What is the “Tree of Life” Project?

  A celebration of Bet Haverim’s 50th anniversary, Sukkot 2011 – Hanukkah 2012, that:

•  Builds community

•  Provides for the physical, spiritual & educational needs of the congregation, now & for the next 50 years

A partnership of CBH haverim who:

•  Literally write a new Sefer Torah together

•  Provide for maintenance, restoration & enhancement needs of our Anderson Road home & the educational programs within that home

•  Establish financial security to ensure Bet Haverim’s future as the center of Yolo County’s Jewish community for the next 50 years…and beyond

An unforgettable spiritual & communal experience you won’t want to miss!

•  A personal opportunity to write a Torah, fulfilling the 613th mitzvah

•  Help to create the CBH “Builders Generation”, continuing & enhancing the foundation so lovingly established by the Founders Generation

•  Be a part of CBH history… & influence the future

Jen Taylor-Friedman (http://www.hasoferet.com), has been selected to serve as soferet(a female scribe), not only writing our new Torah, but helping every CBH partner who wishes to write a letter in the Torah, two on a quill.  She will visit Bet Haverim five times during the celebration of the 50th year  To visit her blog regarding Bet Haverim and our new Torah, click here.

Tentatively, it is planned that Jen Taylor-Friedman will return October 11-14 for more learning & scribing with Bet Haverim partners.  Appointment block sign-ups likely will be available for Sun. October 14, & will be announced approximately September 1.  This will be the final opportunity for CBH partners to scribe in the 50th anniversary Torah.

Also, plan ahead for the Tree of Life Torah Dedication Weekend – December 14 – 16, 2012!
