Partnership/Membership

Partnership in the Congregation Bet Haverim Community – members are partners at CBH!

2012 – 2013 Partnership Information  (To download forms, see the links at the bottom of this page.)

Our Philosophy

We are the Jews of the Yolo County region, who have chosen to join together for a common cause: to maintain a house of worship, a house of learning and a house of assembly. Therefore, we must assume the responsibility of meeting the fiscal needs of the entire Congregation Bet Haverim community.

Choosing to become a partner in the CBH community differs from payment for membership in a club or a gym. As a partner, your pledges ensure that your local Jewish community has a place to worship, learn and develop long-term friendships. The ability of CBH to provide quality programs and services to your Jewish community is dependent upon your contribution.

No One Will Be Denied Participation in Our Community Because of Financial Limitations -  Our Fair Share Commitment

CBH operates under a “Fair Share” plan. This plan is a voluntary system of pledge contribution designed to allow CBH partners to pay pledges based on ability to assume their fair share of CBH’s operating expenses. CBH operating expenditures will amount to approximately $600,000 this year. The sustaining level of $1,900  is the amount it costs per partnership unit to operate the synagogue and pay our bills. Your pledge at or above this amount ensures that CBH’s immediate and long-term needs will be met. Your Fair Share is essential.

The beauty of the Fair Share system is that there is an annual opportunity for personal reassessment. Those who have prospered have the opportunity to raise their partnership pledge to help with the ever increasing costs of operating the synagogue. We have responded to the needs of our students, to human needs of staff, to emergencies of the time. The congregation needs increased support to continue and expand operations and programming, as well as to pay our mortgage in a prudent manner. Your generosity, understanding and commitment are encouraged. Our fiscal year begins July 1st of the present year and closes June 30 of the following year.

All of Our Partners Contribute to Our Building Fund

The building fund ensures the maintenance and well-being of our campus so that we all may enjoy activities, services & life cycle events. It provides children and adults in our community a physical place where they can make Jewish friends and learn about their faith.

BUILDING FUND AND “L’DOR V’DOR” FEE

The Building Fund and L’Dor v’Dor Fee ensure the maintenance and well-being of our campus, so that we all may enjoy activities, services & life cycle events. It provides children and adults in our community a physical place where they can make Jewish friends and learn about their faith. Every CBH partner owns a piece of our synagogue by contributing $1,000 initially to the Building Fund. Once paid, new partners then pay an annual L’Dor v’Dor building assessment of $180. It is essential that every partner unit participate in both in order to ensure the physical integrity our home.
